Are you interested in sponsoring our productions?
Opera
is a wonderful art form, but, as with most things of any worth, it
comes with a price. A production, and the preparation over the course
of several months costs a considerable amount of money. The hire of
rehearsal halls, rehearsal pianist, music hire or purchase, costumes,
scenery, lighting, theatre hire, orchestral fees, travel expenses for
the principals, are just some of the costs involved.
As a group, Guildford Opera Company takes great pride in the standard of performance, whilst at the same time budgeting carefully, keeping our costs to a minimum. Fundraising by our membership is continually at the forefront of our agenda.
As the only group performing opera locally, we see it as vital that we continue to provide this service both to members and to the public. We provide a stepping stone for up and coming singers to the bigger Opera companies, and can attract good talent from a large catchment area with our proximity to London.
Your financial assistance would be much appreciated, and could even be assigned towards specific items, such as the cost of the rehearsal pianist or orchestral player, or the expenses of a specific singer etc..
